Around $132,000 is going to Memorial University’s Grenfell Campus to support the growth of the local tourism industry.
The federal government is giving $100,000 to the school, while the province is giving $32,500, with the goal of developing innovation and leadership skills in the industry.
The money will go towards the feasibility assessment of a new program in strategic tourism leadership, which is hoped to lead to the development of a professional program that equips students with the skills and experience needed to excel in tourism.
