Make-a-Wish Canada, and by extension VOCM Cares, was honoured in the Senate last week.
Newfoundland and Labrador Senator Mohamed-Iqbal Ravalia rose to honour the Make-a-Wish foundation in the country, who are celebrating their 40th year in service.
Senator Ravalia spoke on the work the VOCM Cares Foundation has done to support Make-a-Wish Canada since being formed in the mid-1980s by the Butler family.
He says the foundation recognized the importance of Make-a-Wish and helped pave the way for the provincial chapter. Since then, the provincial chapter has granted over 900 wishes.
