The City of St. John’s is taking time to review a letter sent to Mayor Danny Breen by federal Housing Minister Sean Fraser urging the capital city to beef up its Housing Accelerator Fund application.

The federal government believes the city can be “more ambitious” in meeting the need for housing and the minister is offering suggested changes to the city’s application for $2 million in funding for 91 units.

The city tells VOCM News that it is appreciative of the feedback receives on its proposals and is in the process of reviewing Minister Fraser’s recommendations.
