A New Brunswick man has died on the job at Tata Steel’s mining site in Labrador West.
The RNC, which polices that area of the province, was notified early Thursday afternoon by the company of a sudden death at its remote mining location in northern Labrador, along the border with Quebec.
The 38-year-old victim, a contractor at the mine, was from Moncton.
The site has been secured as local police work with Quebec provincial police from Schefferville on the investigation.
This province’s Occupational Health and Safety division and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are also on the case.
No other details regarding the incident have been released.
