Some $335,000 was raised this weekend through the Cancer Care Foundation’s annual Polka Dot Trot in Paradise.
More than 800 people were involved in the fundraiser.
Participants are encouraged to pick a colour from a list of more than 20 colours, representing different types of cancer.

People then wear a t-shirt in the colour they choose and are immediately able to connect with those who have been down a similar journey—hence the Polka Dot part of the annual fundraiser.
The Cancer Care Foundation says according to the latest statistics, nearly half of all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
