The provincial government is reissuing a Request for Proposals for not one, but two urgent care clinics for the Northeast Avalon.
The province initially issued an RFP for an urgent care clinic last year, but cancelled the process when all the bids came in significantly over budget.
Health Minister Tom Osborne says they’re now looking at two urgent care centres in the region instead of one.
He says they’re looking at strategic locations because they understand that people seeking urgent care probably won’t drive past a hospital in order to get to an urgent care clinic which might be better suited to their needs.
