Today is International Credit Union Day, a day which has been celebrated since 1948. The Newfoundland and Labrador Credit Union is the largest credit union in the province .

Glenn Bolger, CEO, says they differ from banks in the sense that Credit Unions do what’s best for the customer because each customer is an owner.

All eight Credit Unions are celebrating the 75th anniversary of their special day.

Bolger says their membership is growing all the time with over 86-million members worldwide.
