NunatuKavut Community Council President Todd Russell in an address to members on YouTube this week reaffirmed his position and addressed what he calls the misinformation being spread by the Innu Nation and the Nunatsiavut Government.
He says they are once again in a place of “profound disappointment”, in light of comments from Nunatsiavut and the Innu Nation that he contends are “another barrage of negative and false statements and allegations regarding our land and who we are as a people.”
Russell believes he knows where the comments are coming from.
He accused both the Innu Nation and Nunatsiavut of spreading false and manufactured fear, based on something being taken away or diminished if NunatuKavut should progress.
“This couldn’t be further from the truth,” says Russell.
