The province is in the process of recalling its winter snow clearing staff as temperatures across the province start to dip.
The Department of Transportation says mechanics are conducting their annual inspections, plow installation and spreader calibrations on the province’s fleet of 463 snow plows and loaders in preparation for winter.
Some 400 seasonal heavy equipment operators, management and staff are now in the process of being recalled for the season.
The department has also ordered 44 new tandem axle plows which are currently being manufactured for delivery next year.
Meanwhile, drivers can install studded tires on their vehicles starting November 1st.
