The Trans Canada Highway near Hampden is now fully reopened.

The highway was reduced to one lane for several hours until late last night.

The cause of the initial closure has still not been disclosed.

The TCH is currently impassable west of Hampden Junction.

Police advise that the highway is closed 10 km west of Hampden Junction in both directions, and will remain so for an unknown period of time.
