The Royal Canadian Legion is looking for volunteers to help with the Poppy Campaign.
The campaign is launched each year in the days leading up to Remembrance Day.
Jenn Deon, who is with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 56 in Pleasantville, says they’re hoping people will be able to spare a few hours of their time to sit at tables in stores to help collect funds to help veterans and their families.
Deon’s father Rod, a World War II veteran, passed away earlier this year at the age of 102. He was a devoted volunteer during the Poppy Campaign and Deon would love to see his legacy continue.
She says she will be volunteering in the St. John’s area, sitting proudly next to a picture of her father, but there are many more spaces that need to be filled.
Volunteers are asked to contact their local Legion.
