A 54-year-old man remains in hospital after being assaulted yesterday afternoon in Corner Brook. He suffered serious injuries in the assault, but managed to get to hospital, on his own.

The RNC, responding to a disturbance in the area of Cabot Lane around 6:30 last night, arrested a 39-year-old man in connection with the earlier assault. Police say the suspect, who was picked up without incident, has been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
