The Canadian Federation of Students NL is calling for greater accountability from Memorial University administration following the release of the AG’s report into operations at MUN.
The federation says for years, administration have indicated that they have no choice but to raise tuition fees due to government funding cuts, but the AG’s report shows that the administration had been “misusing” university funds while students struggle with increased costs.
Chair Mary Feltham says students are outraged to see how the administration “continues to ignore the rights of students, forcing many out of school.”
Students are taking to the streets on November 8th during the National Day of Action to emphasize that education is a right.
