Canadian songwriting royalty are heading to The Rock this November.
Platinum selling artists Chantal Kreviazuk and Raine Maida will bring their unique and interactive live performance to the Arts and Culture Centre in St. John’s on November 12th.
Maida, frontman to four-time JUNO winners Our Lady Peace, and Grammy nominee Kreviazuk, have co-written hits for the likes of Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, and collaborated on the emotional album and documentary I’m Going to Break Your Heart, which captured the couple’s personal struggles and musical journey, with a book now in development.
The couple spoke with VOCM’s Greg Smith on the highly anticipated return to the island, with Maida sharing that it’s a full show musically, with an added spontaneity and rawness that attracts the audience.
Sharing that the performance will include performances of their own album, remixes of their individual hits and cover arrangements, fans of both artists will be treated to a night of song and stories from two of Canada’s finest.
Maida says he could see the couple collaborating together for the rest of their lives, and that he calls the fluidity of their performance the closet he’ll ever come to playing jazz.
Kreviazuk adds that, the experience of performing together has only helped them grow as a couple in and out of the music world. She said that learning from their trials and tribulations has helped them grow, comparing it to learning to paint or mature as an athlete.
