Premier Andrew Furey is back in Labrador where he is delivering a series of apologies to residential school survivors in Nunatsiavut.
Furey was at Northern Lights Academy in Rigolet this morning where he delivered an apology to residential school survivors and their families. A similar apology is being delivered in Postville this afternoon.
The Premier will visit Makkovik and Hopedale tomorrow, and Nain and Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Friday.
The Premier is making good on a commitment made by his predecessor, Dwight Ball who promised apologies for the harms caused by the residential school system on behalf of the government of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered a similar apology in Labrador in 2017 on behalf of the Government of Canada.
