Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro has done away with lavish parties and alcohol.
An audit by AG Denise Hanrahan a year ago uncovered excessive spending on alcohol, tobacco and dinners. She found staff spent $8,000 on alcohol and accumulated 272 bottles of various beverages in Churchill Falls.
President and CEO of NL Hydro, Jennifer Williams, appeared before the Public Accounts Committee at the House of Assembly this morning. She was questioned by committee member Jordan Brown, the NDP MHA for Labrador West.
Williams assured that committee that alcohol is out at McParland House in Churchill Falls.
