Qalipu First Nation Names Jenny Brake as Acting Chief

The Qalipu First Nation has selected an interim Chief following the resignation of Brendan Mitchell.

Western Vice Chief Jenny Brake will take on the roll of Acting Chief until the next band election in October 2024.

Mitchell, who held the role of Chief for three terms, officially resigned in November to become Newfoundland’s first Regional Chief for the Assembly of First Nations.
