Work to replace runway lights at the Stephenville Airport is currently underway.
Installation of a lighting system was part of the deal when the town sold the airport to businessman Carl Dymond and his company in August.
Stephenville mayor Tom Rose took a tour of the facility last week.
He says the $3 million project will completely modernize the lighting system with new LEDs. Rose calls the upgrades very important, especially given the size of the runway, which stretches nearly two miles long and can land some of the world’s largest aircraft.
