Braya Renewable Fuels confirms the injury of a third-party contractor while working at the site back in October.
The worker was involved in pipefitting work at the refinery on October 20 when he suffered a laceration to his neck.
The worker was treated and has since returned to work. Braya says an internal investigation confirmed that the contractor used improper rigging to move pipes, which the company says is inconsistent with the contractor’s and Braya’s safety practices.
OHS is investigating the incident and has issued a directive to conduct inspections to address the issue.
The company says it is continuing to conduct safety audits to ensure contractor compliance with safety practices.
