A special weather statement has been issued for a portion of the Avalon peninsula, warning of dangerous sea conditions today.
The statement is for the northern Avalon, and the east coast from Cape St. Francis to Cape St. John.
Environment Canada says high tides and pounding surf are expected, with storm surge and minor coastal flooding possible.
