A local group is blowing the dust off an original Ron Hynes tune that was never released.
The Rowdymen managed to get their hands on a demo tape Hynes recorded in Toronto during the 1970s, and after listening discovered a couple of songs they had never heard before.
Band member Gerry Finn says one of those songs was called Travellin’ Shoes.
As far as they know, the song has sat untouched since 1976. Since they had access to the demo tape, they were able to use Hynes’ guitar in their version of the song.
The song is featured on the band’s new album, which is now streaming.
.@TRowdymen’s “Travelling Shoes” a Ron Hynes song they believe has been untouched since 1976 is already a classic. Their new album is out now!
Here’s a taste of the song, performed live back in August during a private show to preview the new album!https://t.co/eZ4tX4IOeg pic.twitter.com/gMQOAwPAzS
