The provincial government has announced numerous initiatives to celebrate its 75th anniversary of Confederation next year.
Newfoundland and Labrador officially joined Canada on March 31, 1949.
Among the initiatives being announced include a grant program to support 75th anniversary celebrations and projects, the establishment of a special medal to be given to residents who have made significant contributions to their communities, a scholarship, and a special license plate bearing the Confederation 75 logo.
