One apartment was extensively damaged and others incurred smoke and water damage in a fire at a complex in Kelligrews this morning.
The blaze broke out around 1:50 a.m. this morning in a second-floor unit at Woodgrove Acres. The CBS Fire Department responded to the call and cleared the scene around 5:30 a.m.
Fire Chief John Heffernan says two people were sent to hospital due to smoke inhalation. He says a fire that involves multiple units is a bigger draw on resources than a single unit fire.
He says until proven otherwise, they have to assume units are filled and go through unit by unit to ensure all residents are safe.
