A man is in custody after a hit and run on Torbay Road in St. John’s.
The incident happened at about 9 a.m. Wednesday. RNC officers spotted the suspect vehicle in the centre city around lunchtime.
After a brief pursuit, they arrested a 29-year-old man on charges of flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and impaired driving. He was also cited for failing to remain at the scene of an accident and driving without a licence or insurance.
The man was held for court today.
