The Town of Gander is launching a five-year plan to improve health care.
The recruitment and retention strategy was developed in consultation with health care workers, the provincial government, and other stakeholders.
The plan will focus on recruiting professionals to the area for primary care and long-term care services, and explore ways to enhance work/life balance.
Mayor Percy Farwell says the town has been focused on addressing gaps in health care for quite some time, but the new plan represents a strategic blueprint towards their goal.
