Just over seven years since she went missing, RCMP are set to announce a “significant” update in the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Jennifer Hillier Penney.
The 38-year-old vanished after last being seen at the Husky Drive home of her estranged husband in St. Anthony on November 30th, 2016. She was supposed to be watching one of her daughters while her husband was away on a hunting trip.
It’s among the highest-profile outstanding missing persons’ cases in the province.
Despite numerous searches, public awareness campaigns, and Facebook groups dedicated to finding the young woman, until now, no trace of Hillier Penney has been discovered, and no charges have been laid.
What police are expected to say today is not yet known, but they do indicate the update is significant.
An RCMP news conference has been called for 11:30 this morning at RCMP Headquarters in St. John’s. VOCM News will be there.
