RCMP confirm that an extensive search was carried out in the area of Northwest Arm on the Great Northern Peninsula in connection with the ongoing investigation into the disappearance and murder of Jennifer Hillier Penney.

Her estranged spouse, Dean Penney was arrested last week and charged with murder. He’s scheduled to appear in Corner Brook provincial court this afternoon.

Northwest Arm is the location of Dean Penney’s cabin where he was supposed to be on a duck hunting trip when Hillier Penney was last seen at his home in St. Anthony.

RCMP say the search involved marine resources including boats and divers.
