Online shopping has its perks, but one thing no one wants this holiday season is for a package to go missing off their doorstep.
A new study from FedEx shows that although the majority of online shoppers express some concern about package theft, there’s a bright side to consider—it’s easier than you may think to outsmart porch pirates.
James Anderson, Communications Advisor with FedEx Express Canada, says nearly a quarter of online shoppers in Atlantic Canada have been victims of porch pirates, a crime which has risen in frequency over the past few years according to the company.
Anderson says using your tracking number is one of the best ways to reach out to the driver to give instructions on where to leave the package if theft is a concern.
