The VOCM Cares for the Community 50/50 exploded on the weekend with the jackpot growing from about $40,000 to just over $155,000 by the time the deadline arrived at midnight.
Half the jackpot goes to VOCM Cares with some lucky ticket holder taking home the other half.
Sonya Smith, Executive Director of VOCM Cares, had no idea that the ticket sales would swell to that amount.
“On Rafflebox, you could just see it grow and grow,” says Smith. “Even in the afternoon and through the night people continued to buy tickets and support our many causes.”
The draw takes place following the 8:30 a.m. news tomorrow morning on 590 VOCM.
