The MHA for Corner Brook says government acknowledged the deficiencies identified at Western Memorial Regional Hospital as the province took possession of the building.
Gerry Byrne was responding to the Opposition who say they learned there were more than 2,700 deficiencies identified at the new health care facility through an Access to Information request.
Byrne told VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly that deficiencies are not unusual, especially in a big build like the hospital in Corner Brook.
Those deficiencies says Byrne run the gamut from needing to caulk a light fixture, to ceiling tiles that need to be replaced or scuffs on the road. He says it’s not unusual to find those kind of things in a massive 600,000 square foot, $500 million building.
