A multi-vehicle crash occurred on the Trans Canada last evening near Witless Bay Line that caused some extensive slowdowns in the area.

RCMP say it all started with two vehicles which had pulled to the side of the road to address a mechanical issue with one of the vehicles.

A westbound vehicle crashed into one of the two vehicles as it was pulling back onto the highway.

A second crash occurred involving the vehicle that was still parked on the side of the road.
