Court proceedings at Atlantic Place in St. John’s were disrupted yesterday after a man tampered with the fire alarm.
The incident, which caused the sprinkler system to activate, happened at about 11:00 a.m.
Several court proceedings were delayed and a business closed as a result of flooding that affected several floors.
A 46-year-old suspect faces charges of false alarm of fire, property damage, mischief and breach of court orders.
He was held in custody to appear later.
