A man from Mount Pearl has been charged with online child exploitation offences.
Following a lengthy investigation by the RCMP-RNC Child Exploitation Unit, 43-year-old Edward Baldwin was arrested yesterday.
Last March, the unit executed a search warrant at a Mount Pearl home in relation to a report of online child exploitation activity. Electronics were seized and subsequently analyzed.
Baldwin has been charged with one count of transmitting child pornography and three counts of possession of child pornography.
The Mount Pearl man has been released on conditions which police say are designed to protect the public. He is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in St. John’s on March 5.
