A woman has been arrested after somebody tried to steal a turkey from Sobeys on Ropewalk Lane in St. John’s early Tuesday morning.

Police say she became irate when confronted by a male security guard, pulling out a hammer and spitting on him.

The RNC have charged her with robbery with violence, assault and breach of a court order. She was taken to the lockup.
