A veteran from Port au Port East who served on Canada’s only tank regiment has been named as the latest recipient of the Quilt of Valour program.
Joe Young started his military service in 1983 and spent time stationed in Germany, and Haiti, as well as serving in Italy during the Gulf War.
Young is now enrolled in the College of the North Atlantic in the Baking and Pastry Arts program.
He’s already putting those new skills to use with the distribution of baked goods to people on his Christmas list.
