The man charged with the first-degree murder of Jennifer Hillier-Penney is due back in court on Wednesday.
Fifty-year-old Dean Penney, the woman’s estranged husband, was scheduled to appear in Corner Brook provincial court on Friday morning at 11 a.m.
But the case, along with other court matters, was postponed due to the nasty weather.
Penney has been in custody since his arrest on December 15. Police have declined to provide details, except to say he was picked up around noon that day in the Deer Lake area.
He’s made two court appearances, and has since retained St. John’s defence lawyer Rosellen Sullivan.
Hillier-Penney was last seen just over seven years ago at Dean Penney’s house on November 30, 2016.
There has been no sign of her since.
