Premier Andrew Furey is wishing everyone in the province a merry Christmas.
Furey hopes everyone takes some time to focus on family and reflection.
He says it is a time to be with family, and to reflect on the year that was and what’s ahead in 2024.

PC Leader Tony Wakeham says he wants to bring people in the province a message of hope this Christmas.
Wakeham says there are many opportunities that exist in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Wakeham believes that the province is rich in terms of its people and its resources, and that is something that should be taken advantage of.
He uses tourism as an example. He calls that industry a “mega project that is renewable.” He says the province has a great natural environment, and government needs to learn how to take full advantage of that.
NDP Leader Jim Dinn is choosing to focus on the kindness of others this holiday season.
It has been a rough couple of years according to Dinn, and as “bleak” as things may seem at times there are a lot of people who are actively trying to make a difference.
He uses tent city as an example, and how people are still focusing on that issue and offering support by bringing them things like food and clothing.
“That’s a positive thing,” says Dinn, who notes that by and large Newfoundlanders and Labradorians want to make sure people are looked after.
