The Valentine Lake gold mining project in central Newfoundland is about half-way built and officials with Marathon Gold are hoping to start pouring gold by the start of 2025.

President and CEO Matt Manson says there is another $300 million to spend to get them over the finish line.

All the site work is completed and their next phase of construction is above-ground.

“We’re erecting steel on mill buildings” says Manson, “things are now beginning to go upwards.”
