Residents who live on Change Islands in Notre Dame Bay are in a tight spot regarding gas for the tank.

The only retailer on the island has not been able to have gas delivered by their provider, who is on Fogo Island.

Larry Hurley, who lives on Change Islands, says people have no other choice than to get on the ferry to go fill their tank. They have been without for the past two weeks and Hurley says the retailer has been told that it’s not worth it to the provider to send a person and a truck to Change Islands for half a day—sometimes longer depending on the ferry situation.

He’s appealing for help as there are people on the ferry for no other reason than to get gas.
