The RNC issued more than 130 speeding tickets over a two-day period during the holidays as the result of traffic checkpoints in the metro region, Corner Brook and Labrador West.

Among those ticketed between December 28 and 30, were five drivers who were driving at speeds 50 km/h over the posted speed limit.

One of those was stopped in a residential area of Torbay while making a food delivery.

Two drivers were impaired, and had their licences suspended for seven days, and had their vehicles seized.
