A young boy is raising money and awareness after a frightening skating accident a couple years ago.
Sully Hogan was learning how to skate at the Bannerman Park Loop on New Years Day in 2021 when someone skated over his hand, severing his pinky at the knuckle.

Sully’s mom Kaley Hogan says her son has overcome a number of obstacles in his recovery, and has since returned to playing hockey despite being hesitant following the incident.
Now seven years old, Sully wants to bring awareness to ice skating safety and raise money towards the War Amps to help kids who require prosthetics.
He became curious after seeing a War Amps commercial on television and decided he wanted to raise money to “buy a little boy or girl a limb” through a Tim Hortons Hockey Card trading night fundraiser.
The event is taking place at the Paradise Double Ice Complex on Friday, January 12 from 6 – 8 p.m. There will be snacks, drinks, door prizes, and a visit from the Newfoundland Growlers.
