The town of Carbonear is apologizing to residents frustrated with delays in garbage collection in the area.
Mayor Frank Butt says the company contracted by the Eastern Regional Service Board to provide garbage collection to the town has encountered a number of issues, resulting in disruptions to service.
Butt provided an update on the situation on VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly.
He understands the frustration expressed by residents, but as of Monday says Butt, 85 per cent of the town’s residential garbage had been picked up. Officials are still working on addressing curbside recycling pick up.
