More than half of Indigenous Canadians working in IT report experiencing discrimination in the workplace. That’s according to a new report from ComIT.org.
Respondents report facing bias at job interviews, or being passed on when it comes to receiving a promotion.
Executive Director Pablo Listingart says many feel they have no room to further their career because of their identity.
He says there is a lot of work to be done to ensure everyone feels included in the workplace.
He says many employers are trying to increase diversity efforts through training, which is a step in the right direction, but it’s not enough.
