Goose Bay is experiencing a friendly invasion.
Hundreds of German Army personnel are conducting training in the vicinity of 5 Wing Goose Bay from now to February.
5 Wing Goose Bay says German army soldiers and some members of the Austrian Army will be travelling between the base, the German Training Camp and the Practice Target Area.
Depending on snow conditions, training may also be conducted in various areas within an 80 km radius of the base.
Training will include parachute drops.
Area residents are also asked to remain vigilant as ice blocks will be cut out of the ice on Lake Melville near the German Camp.
