A man driving a pickup truck which collided with a Metrobus on Torbay Road last night tried to pull a runner but the RNC quickly caught up with him.
The accident happened just before 9 p.m.
Police have charged the 69-year-old with failing to stop at the scene of an accident, resisting arrest, public mischief and drunk driving.
There were no serious injuries to anyone on the bus.
The accused was held for court today and his vehicle was impounded.
