There was a collision between a school bus and an SUV on the Burin Peninsula late this morning.
There were no students on the bus at the time of the crash around 11:30 a.m., but the drivers of both vehicles suffered minor injuries.
Schools throughout the region were closed this morning due to poor weather, but many reopened for the afternoon session.

The crash occurred on Route 220 at Big Salmonier Hill in Burin, just before Lewin’s Cove.
Photos from the scene showed wet roads with both the bus and SUV ending up partially off the road with front-end damage.
