School dismissal in the Corner Brook area could be delayed this afternoon due to poor weather and road conditions that are being experienced across the province today.
In a social media note to Corner Brook families at 1 p.m., school officials said it may not be safe for school buses to run.
due to the “unanticipated change” in weather conditions.
They say therefore on-time dismissal is “highly unlikely,” assuring parents that students would be safe and secure at school until the weather improves.
Officials added there may be a window later this afternoon to allow the buses to run.
RCMP were also dealing with weather-related road closures near Corner Brook, where a section of the TCH was blocked by “multiple stationary tractor-trailers.”
