Blustery conditions forced the postponement of Marble Mountain’s official opening this week, but intense snow squalls in the Corner Brook region turned out to be a blessing for the ski hill.
They’re now planning to open tomorrow.
General Manager Richard Wells says the snow that’s fallen over the last day or so is welcomed by the ski resort and enthusiasts alike.
Wells says the snow is powdery, which is exciting for skiers and snowboarders.
“This is exactly what we’ve been looking for,” says Wells. They originally thought they would only have a single route open from the top, but the ski patrol will assess conditions tomorrow morning to see whether they might be able to open some other terrain.
