The provincial government has issued the first ridesharing license to Redsea Riding.
They say the company is locally owned and operated (by Yoseif Tesfamicael), and currently has 10 drivers with more being recruited.
The company is planning to begin offering its services in the coming months, operating in the St. John’s-metro area.
Another local company, Kabby, recently came forward saying they will soon be operating in the province as well, though there is no word on the status of a potential government license.
Digital Government and Service NL Minister Sarah Stoodley will speak to media about the news at 12:00 p.m.
VOCM News will be there.
