Loblaws has reversed its decision to cut the discounted amount on products that are nearing expiry from 50 to 30 per cent.
Canada’s largest grocery retailer was met with public backlash this week after reducing the discount to move toward a “more predictable and consistent offering.”
In an emailed statement, the company says they’ve listened to feedback from customers and are reverting to 50 per cent discounts.
They say the change had not yet been implemented in Atlantic Canada. In the rest of the country, 50 per cent stickers will be returning to shelves in the next few weeks.
